My Natural Pond recognizes the need to have solar pumps continue running when there is limited or no sun. Providing this facility for our powerful range of solar pumps demands some trade-offs to keep the costs reasonable and the performance acceptable. The MNP SB12 meets this need by lowering the pump speed and max head of the solar pumps it works with but in return for this performance degradation the battery can provide many hours of continuous running after the sun goes down.
This battery is designed to work with the our MNP SP50, MNP SP100 waterfall / filer pumps and the MNP SF70/SF100 solar fountain pond pumps. These are all twin solar panel pumps. The connections are proprietary so any other pump or panel would need to be hard wired to this battery. We cannot offer our normal one year warranty if you use it for other pumps and panels.
When using this battery the pump flow rate will be reduced by about 35% and the max head will drop from 10 feet to six feet. This may result in no flow if your waterfall is five feet or higher. You would need to keep the height measured from the surface of the water to about three feet or less. If you do not use the battery the normal rated speeds and max heights will be restored.
The battery will also connect to pond lights and it has a sensor to run the light once it gets dark. We hope to have a suitable light by June.
